1. Overview & Core Philosophy

Welcome to Alarm Jail ("we", "our", or "the App"), developed by ToonCoder. Alarm Jail is an anti-oversleep utility alarm clock engineered specifically for heavy sleepers, featuring wake-up puzzle missions, volume lock protocols, and a multi-layer fail-safe architecture.

We take user privacy exceptionally seriously. Alarm Jail does not collect, sell, or rent your personal information. We do not require you to create an account, log in, or transmit private details such as your name, email address, contacts, or calendar schedules to any cloud server. Your alarm configurations, custom schedules, habit streaks, and mission progress stay 100% locally on your physical device.

2. Information Collection & Usage

2.1 Data Handled Exclusively On-Device (Zero Remote Uploads)

The following data is created during your use of Alarm Jail and is stored strictly within your device's private, encrypted internal storage (SQLite / Jetpack Room / EncryptedSharedPreferences):

This data is never sent to any remote servers, cloud databases, or third parties.

2.2 Automatically Collected Diagnostic & Advertising Data

To provide the App for free and diagnose stability issues, Alarm Jail incorporates industry-standard Google Play Services and Google AdMob SDK. These SDKs may collect pseudonymous and non-personal diagnostic metrics, such as:

3. Android Permissions & Technical Rationale

To guarantee that alarms trigger reliably without failure under Android Doze mode, aggressive OEM battery management, and screen-lock states, Alarm Jail requests the following specific permissions:

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM & USE_EXACT_ALARM Core Utility

Mandatory for Android 12+ (API 31+) to guarantee your alarms fire at the exact second scheduled, bypassing Doze mode batching and power-saving delays.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK Core Utility

Allows the alarm siren audio to continue playing continuously and reliably while presenting full-screen interactive disarm missions without being killed by the Android OS.

USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT & SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW Core Utility

Allows Alarm Jail to immediately display the emergency wake-up and challenge screen directly over your lock screen and on top of any active background apps when an alarm triggers.

REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS Reliability Layer

Used to request an exemption from OEM battery killers (Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, etc.) so that background alarms are never silenced unexpectedly.

ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY Emergency Override

Allows emergency alarms to bypass Do Not Disturb (DND) modes when you explicitly enable the emergency volume lock feature.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED & QUICKBOOT_POWERON Auto-Recovery

Ensures all scheduled upcoming alarms are automatically recalculated and re-registered with the Android AlarmManager immediately after your phone restarts.

CAMERA, SENSORS, & NFC (Optional Missions) Optional Disarm Missions

Only requested if you choose to activate specific physical disarm missions (such as Step Counter, Shake, QR Code, or NFC scan). Crucial note: Sensor data and camera frames are processed 100% locally on-device in real-time. No photos or sensor streams are ever recorded, saved to your gallery, or uploaded to any server.

4. Google AdMob & Third-Party Advertising

Alarm Jail uses Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC) to display advertisements (banner and rewarded ads).

AdMob may use cookies, device identifiers, and the Google Advertising ID (GAID) to deliver personalized or non-personalized advertisements based on applicable regional laws (such as GDPR in Europe or CCPA in California).

IAB app-ads.txt Authorization:
Alarm Jail strictly adheres to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) app-ads.txt standard to protect advertiser integrity and eliminate counterfeit ad inventory. Our authorized seller record is published publicly at: /app-ads.txt.
